This project was proudly executed during my time as an in-house Graphic Designer for Heroic Strategies. While the client relationship and overarching creative direction were managed by the agency, all design assets, environmental print layouts, and marketing tasks highlighted in this case study were developed and executed by me.

Catholic Event Graphic Design for the Regina Caeli Academy National Gala
When a prominent Catholic apostolate hosts a high-profile national gathering, the visuals need to do more than just look nice. They need to carry the weight, dignity, and urgency of the organization's mission.
During my time with Heroic Strategies, I served as the lead graphic designer for the digital and print design suite for the Courage Under Fire Gala. This national event, hosted by Regina Caeli Academy, featured renowned Catholic voices like Fr. Mike Schmitz, Matt Walsh, and Harrison Butker.
Here is a look behind the curtain at how I approached the Catholic event design, digital styling, and environmental layout, transforming a fast moving project into a cohesive visual experience that drove massive community engagement.
The Challenge: Visual Gravity and Environmental Scale
Regina Caeli Academy needed to galvanize a movement to proclaim the Truth. For a national gala of this caliber, standard templates and disconnected graphics simply would not cut it. The project demanded a designer who could comfortably manage the delicate process of marrying event marketing planning and graphic design execution. Every single asset needed to work in harmony to tell a compelling story, elevate the brand's prestige, and build immense anticipation for the hundreds of families and donors arriving at the venue.
The Strategic Process: From Concept Alignment to Visual Order
Large-scale national events move quickly, and stakeholders are naturally protective of their brand. My role was to act as a steady, reliable production force, collaborating with the client, managing technical assets, and executing across multiple mediums.
Navigating the Brand Refresh Development
To anchor the visual direction of the gala, I worked closely with the client to develop a brand refresh. Brand design is critical for laying the foundation for the rest of the design suite. By testing typography, color balances, and thematic textures on a single style tile, I was able to unlock a premium, traditional aesthetic that the client loved, setting us up for success down the road.

The Strategic Digital Promotion
Before guests ever stepped foot in the venue, I captured their attention online by building a seamless digital journey. I stepped in to handle the design alongside necessary copywriting and feed planning to ensure the launch was completely frictionless:
Web Updates & Responsive Optimization: I polished the website’s visuals, swapping in the finalized branding, adding animations, and optimized the layout across both desktop and mobile viewports.
Email Marketing Design & Copywriting: I designed and formatted most of the event's promotional email campaigns, ensuring the visual rhythm kept subscribers engaged.
Organic Social Media Ecosystem: I managed the core organic social media lifecycle. I built the content calendar, wrote the captions, designed the posts, and published the content.
Event Environmental Design and Print Production
A guest’s experience begins the moment they arrive at the venue. I extended the branding into the physical space, executing heavy, large-scale print asset design to create a more immersive experience and to help them find their way around:
Environmental Signage: I designed custom speaker banners, high-contrast sponsor banners, and striking quote banners.
Wayfinding Signage:Â I engineered clean, highly visible directional signs to seamlessly guide thousands of attendees through the physical layout of the venue with ease and professionalism.
Step-and-Repeat Photo Backgrounds: I built the core slideshow graphics for the venue screens, ensuring the visual backbone of the live evening perfectly matched the printed materials in the room.
Donation Cards:Â In-room print materials styled perfectly to match the gala's branding, keeping the call to generosity dignified and seamless.
The Results: Inspiring Courage, Driving Impact
The result was a unified event design ecosystem that embodied the essence of the Courage Under Fire brand. Despite tight timelines and shifting logistics, I maintained a steady, precise workflow to ensure every digital asset was deployed on schedule and every physical print file was prepped correctly.
The event space felt cohesive, professional, and inspiring, resulting in many compliments from attendees. By building a seamless visual bridge from the initial email invitation to the physical stage environment, the design suite helped Regina Caeli Academy look its best on the national stage.
